About this course

Course Information

The course is aimed at obtaining a minimum knowledge of Russian as a foreign language, necessary for further study for general cultural purposes, and to achieve a basic level general knowledge of Russian. The knowledge gained during the course is the initial stage in the formation of communicative speech and language competence. If you master Russian as a foreign language at an elementary level, you will be able to use your knowledge in the process of communication with native speakers in the everyday, educational and socio-cultural spheres: you will read and understand simple sentences; write text and keep up a conversation about yourself, family, friends, hobbies; understand the main content of short monologues and dialogues in situations of everyday communication. In accordance with the acquired knowledge, you will form your own statements grammatically and lexically correct.

Requirements for students

Basic knowledge is not required for a course. This course is designed to prepare foreign citizens to study at preparatory faculties for additional general education programs, which provide preparation for mastering professional educational programs in Russian and in an interlanguage, as well as for those interested in Russian language and Russian culture.

Course Format

Mastering a course includes: viewing, studying presentations, working with interactive text of lectures and with subsequent answers to questions for self-examination, discussing them at the forum; the implementation of training exercises for each topic of the workshop; passing the final certification in the form of the final control test.
